Well I'm stoked as anything today because I've finally fixed a new project forum I've been working on. I've looked and looked for this one tiny piece of code that was throwing everything out of whack but I couldn't sort it even after a couple of weeks looking. Until yesterday I didn't even know what I was looking for.
[boring computer talk]
Turns out it was literally a single line of code causing all my troubles. I'd posted on the support forum and the support staff couldn't even help. They just said I had to look at every one of the templates I'd edited over the past couple of months and hope for the best.
To give you some idea of how difficult this is when I edit this (specimenfishforum) forum's code I have one main block of code to work with and a few minor snippets. In my new project forum's control panel I have roughly 150 pages of code :o
Anyway, the code turned out to be hiding right in the top of my header code in pretty much the smallest and simplest template on my whole site.
It was this:
| CODE |
| <div align="center"> |
Just this single line of code was spoiling my whole site big time. I thought it wasn't having any effect as it's closed which means it has a < at the beginning and a > at the end but I removed this and things are working perfectly.
[/boring computer talk]
Just had to say this because I'm really pleased, I was at my wits end :D

I've had a right day today me, been helping a mate move house and he's got these snakes and lizards. We put the tanks in the back of the van to move them and by the time we'd got there the female snake had escaped. I've got absolutely nothing against snakes but I'm proper TERRIFIED of them.
Anyway, we pulled up and I was in the driver's seat when he said she'd escaped, I've never got out of a van so fast in my life. It was really bad that, I'm shaking almost thinking about it. If that thing had gotten on me I'd have just crashed the van and flipped out I reckon lol :lol:

Not long now before i fish windermere pike hunting on 7th march.Anyone know how to catch on windermere.Could do with pike tips i'm thinking lampray off the bottom.And thrash the water with my best plug till my arm drops off into windermere(pike food).Is it a good plan :snork:
mike the pike - February 15, 2008 11:36 AM (GMT)
if you have watched the likes of john wilson-matty hayes-mick brown ect, they all catch the big pikesters on the down rigger:} its a big weight on a pully that you attatch to the back of the boat, you clip your line in and it drops straight to the bottom or however deep the fish are.(using your fishfinder of course) if its warm and bright you want surface poppers the louder the better, if cold and cloudy some deepdivers:}
if you dare livebaiting is a must:} whos gonna see you in the middle of windermere:}}
dudster - February 16, 2008 12:02 AM (GMT)
I have plugs and spinners and no down rigger kit.And to be right about it i dont even like hooking a worm(its the wiggle thay do)i couldnt use a live fish i know its best but i'm lame.I ll just hope its sunny so my plugs /spinners get some big action.Thrashing the top of the water that much i'll make the boat move faster than the outboard :P :big:
cheers
mike the pike - February 16, 2008 08:48 AM (GMT)
i have used laggy bands to keep the little blighters on the hooks:} just dont get the band too tight and you can use the same fish all day and release when you are finished:}
have you got a fishfinder? if you have you could always get your heaviest bomb or 3 and set a paternoster rig (my persy favourite) also known as the helicopter rig:} drop it right to the bottom leave for 20 mins whilst thrashing the water into a foamy paste with your poppers:}}}
mike the pike - February 21, 2008 12:39 PM (GMT)
on another topic! did anyone see that snakehead fish caught on the withan near north hykeham? that is one ugly fish:}} id love to bag one:}} anyone know the bloke that caught it? (andy alder)
dudster - February 23, 2008 11:53 PM (GMT)
The snakehead looked well.I was listening about the beast on the radio and it got me thinking is there more.Or was this someones fish that got to big for for a little tank.Time will tell
