Cheers Bowser, I'll have a scout.
I have had time on my hands and have tracked down most of the people I have ever worked with since I left school in '77 (that's 1977 not 1877 you cheeky gits).
It's a bit like an episode of This is Your Life. One guy who was a senior draughtsman is now a Senior Engineer working for BP in Azerbaijan (spelling ?). 6 weeks on, two weeks off rota, all living accomodation, flights, cleaner, laundry free of charge, and he tells me the girls are 'plentifull and cheap' Don't know what wack he is on, but for me he says it would be £300 a day with £45 a day food allowance plus aforementioned perks above.
I said no as the Caspian Sea is one of the World's most polluted and the fishing would be crap.
Seriously though they are not taking on anyone at the moment, shame as I could just about cope with 60k tax free per year with 3 months off........
dudster - November 19, 2008 05:29 PM (GMT)
:o Yes that sounds nice when you put it at 60k a year and 3 months offf...
I'm not halfing my wages for anyone ( I WISH )

Some of the locals aint bad looking either!
One of the senior guys getting a chemical plant working out there brought home his locally employed english speaking "secretary" for a visit to the Uk.
Nice!
Very friendly too. :)
But he did also say that the down side* makes the place very dull for everyone. So I think he's not going to renew his contract when the times up.
*Rubbish accomodation, water works when it feels like it, little or no entertainment, everythings a dust colour (cause its covered in a talcumpowder like dust layer, even your underwear), and there is nothing nearby except miles and miles, of miles and miles. :(
Good money but you earn it.
BOF ;)
