Thinking of a nutty type boilie what does everybody reckon
3oz tigernut meal
3oz peanutmeal
2oz coconut(dessicated but soon to be blitzed to a powder)
2oz Lamlac
3oz soya
4oz maizemeal
1/2oz ground E.M.P
2tsp molasses
1tsp minamino
1tsp coconut creme (liquid form)

too much or not enough binder? I`ve not bothered with oils due to the amount present in the nut meals

I feel that's way too much nut meal John.
As you say the nuts contain a lot of oil, so binding and rolling such large quantities will be a nightmare.
I'd blend the nut meals / powders and only add at most 2 oz per lb of the combined mixture, to a fairly standard Birdfood mix.
I'll be back shortly with my own recipe.

Ok try this:-

5 oz Semo (Yes I know some folk think its cr*p, but the fish usually dont. But if you really do hate it, swap it for Maize meal, or even Ground White rice if you have to).
4 oz Soya Flour
6 oz Red Factor Birdfood
1 oz Assorted Nut meal
1 tsp Soy Sauce
10 to 20 ml Mollasses
5 ml Scopex Flavour

1 or 2 dessert spoons of Sesame oil, not put in the mix, but wiped on the rolling surfaces, into the bait gun, and onto the outside of the lump of paste.
This prevents the surfaces sticking and largely comes off during the boiling. But any slight remnants give the Scopex a slight "lift".

See where you are coming from bof but it kind of steers away from the nutty theme a little. Do you think 1oz is all a basemix would tolerate? I don`t like to use synthetic flavourings in my baits if i can help it unless i`m fishing the river so really looking for something from the basemix. Love the soy sauce idea never thought of that one as a salt content. I have never used red factor is this just crushed seed or egg food as well? Would you not keep the Lamlac in as a form of soluble protein?

Red Factor Canary Mix is this stuff:-

Great bait ingredient, with the benefit of producing a basically yellow bait with red spots. Just for something "different".

The list is my current Birdfood Winter mix so thats why there is only 1 oz of nut meal in it. It should do 2 oz without difficulty.

Soy sauce is not just a source of salt its a natural flavour enhancer as well.

Lamlac or Ewes Milk Replacer is a favourite of mine from years back. At one time I wouldnt have made one mix without it in. But I dropped it when I went over to Fishmeals and somehow never went back to buying it.

Drop the Scopex by all means, and just add either Active CSL, your Coconut Cream, or possibly Maple Syrup, just watch the amount, as it can make the mix a bit sticky.

I use the Lamlac with fishmeal in my main bait and have had some good results myself as have a few of my friends that have used it. I must admit i have not tried the soluble fishmeals but will get around to using them even if it is to fish the two side by side to compare results.

Just for John, I have put my hand in my pocket*, ordered a pack of Assorted Nut Meal, and am going to experiment shortly, (well over the next month sometime), with just how much meal my standard (ish) 50 / 50 mix + milk replacer can stand.

*Yes folks, it has happened, and you read about it here first!
