Title: Langold Lake
Description: Big tench & big pike

Langold Lake
Worksop, Nottinghamshire

I lived next to it and fished it for over 8 years on a fairly regular basis.

Though over-looked by most anglers as a country park type lake, covered in ducks and surrounded by dog walkers during the summer. This is a well established lake with some huge shouls of roach and bream (nice pike fodder).

DESCRIPTION
Large day ticket lake run by Bassetlaw DC. Concrete wall end generally deeper apart from some isolated areas towards the boat house which go to 20ft (used to be a diving board there).

Best tench pegs between boat house and island, anything past island generally shallow.

Best bream bags taken from pegs at the far side of the lake to the carpark, half way along bank, fishing feeder in to centre of lake.

Pike anywhere in lake but biggest in deeper water opposite boat house or concrete wall (I've had lots of doubles out and a few over 20, the biggest 23lb - but i've seen bigger caught (seen a 26 winched out but told lake record 28)

The concrete wall very popular with the locals as deep water but not really my scene. There are lots of nice natural pegs with lillies a distinct advantage when fishing for tench (well laid on)

FISH
Roach 2.5lbs, tench 7lbs, bream 8lbs, pike 28lb - also seen some big perch and eels winched out of here.

TACTICS
Waggler, pole, feeder. Red maggot usually does the trick over ground bait/hemp. Sweet corn the no. 1 for tench and roach

Pike on mackerel, smelt or sardine (i've tried everything else and caught with most things but these seem to be more consistant)

TICKETS
Child £2, adults £3, £27 season

CONTACT
Go-Baits tackle, Langold or ticket on bank

DAY TICKET
Available for this water all year round with seasonal snack hut.

DISABLED ACCESS
This water is suitable for disabled anglers

Draw-backs: sometimes lots kids & dog walkers arounf (the sun brings them all out) - Oh and occasionally the boat house doors are sprung open to let the canoes out. - I KNOW THIS LAST BIT DON'T SOUND TOO GOOD BUT THERE ARE PLENTY OF QUIET, NATURAL PEGS AROUND THE LAKE - AND TRUST ME THIS PLACE IS FULL OF FISH

HOPE SOMEONE FINDS THIS USEFUL

I know this goes back a ways but does anyone have any more up to date info on this place?
Particularly as a Carp / Tench fishing venue.

BOF ;)
