Cheers JON, nice one mate :) I've been before but not fished there, heard it's meant to be difficult to catch there I think.

There are six lakes
Lake 1-Silver fish/match lake.

Lake 2-Carp to low doubles.

Lake 3-A good head of Carp mainly doubles/upperdoubles with a few 20`s to 28/9. There are also some nice tench to be had.

Lake 4-Predominantly Bream running into double figures. Some nice tench can be found if you hunt them out as too can the odd Carp and Pike.

Lake 5-Carp to upper 30`s with Bream in to doubles and some good Tench.There are also some good sized Pike to be had. Not an easy water with plenty of underwater features. Not an instant water and results will come to those who are prepared to put the time in and learn!!!

Lake 6-A moderately stocked lake of 48 acres with plenty of underwater features. An excellent 20`s water with a good stock of 30`s thrown in for good measure. Again this is not a water that many people just turn up and catch, a lot of thought about location and feeding will bring you the best results so be prepared to give up a bit of time. There are also pike Tench Perch and the odd Bream. I have also seen a chub caught at 7.08!! an absolute clonker i`m sure you will agree.

River Trent-This is a non-tidal stretch of the river with big Barbel, Carp and the usual stock of river fish. A nice long stretch for those wishing to get away from the crowds.

Just had 3 days at the Pits in lake 5 for pike. Not much joy just a couple of jacks but this was more of a recky session and i've sussed out the best areas for pike. Won't be piking there for a few weeks, they still spawning.

Carp just starting to show on lake 5, the best one this weekend 32lb but not many fish caught yet. Give it a week or two and the water temp. should rise a bit and bring the water back to life, so the local carp experts tell me.

Lake 4 been very productive already, with some huge bream being caught as well as the odd carp.

For the patient carper lake 5 has them up to 38lb, they expecting a 40 this year. Also pike record for this lake stands at 36lb (so they say). if correct they may well see a 40lb in the next few years.

All in all i'm impressed with the set-up there - drive to and park at peg, bivvy up for as long as you like, plenty of helpful tips from Steve the bailif, who lives on site - £10 per 24hrs - worth the dosh and well worth a few days in hope of the 'big one'. They got a lake to suit everyone.

I have a map of 5 which isn`t too far off the mark although there are a few features missing. I will scan it and post it up when i get time on my other pc.

I've fished the Trent here a few times and it's much improved as a venue. Not so much in terms of the fishing - which is, and has been for quite a while, very good - but in terms of how tidy the place is nowadays. The bailifff has a zero-tolerance approach to those that drop litter, and reminds you of your responsibilities when you pay for your ticket. It's paid off, because it used to be a rat infested tip but it's commendably clean these days.

I hate to start off my contributions with a request for help but has anyone used the track between pits 3 and 4 and under the A1 to access the lower length of their stretch? I tried to go below the A1 bridge last winter but the track that follows the river was far too dodgy for my car.
